Sporadic at Best............

I am going to be sporadic at best....... Blogging has been on my list of things to do, but there are only 24 hours in my day.

Right now my life is consumed with preparations for the baby. She could be here any day! I had an ultrasound on Wed. and of course....... baby girl H. is very small (the 3rd percentile for growth), my amniotic fluid is borderline, she is breech, and they want me to take it easy....... I have a non-stress test tomorrow morning to make sure she is not in distress. Her heart sounds good and the bloodflow from me to her looked good as of Wed. We will see what tomorrow brings. I am going for an US and another non-stress test every day or 2 to make sure. I'm driving to Birmingham like crazy. I might just have the baby tomorrow so please keep me and baby H. in your prayers.

In the meantime, I'm washing clothes and bedding, finding car seats and bouncy seats, sterilizing bottles, moving Amanda's room, sewing curtains, coming up with a science fair project, finishing up with Catechism, volunteering for Amanda's class, making more birthday cupcakes, helping Amanda with thank-you notes, reading, listening to incessant whining over math flash-cards, and working. The same-old-same-old....... now throw a new baby into the mix.... I'm actually so looking forward to her arrival. I think everything will settle down and I will be able to focus on the baby and Amanda, Nic, and Steve with no other responsibilities.

Finally, I just finished another book, While my Sister Sleeps by Barbara Delinsky. It is her latest and it was pretty good. At first I thought it was going to be very predictable, but there were a couple of unexpected turns. It was an easy read, but a little sad. The entire premise revolves around a 30 year old marathon runner who falls into a coma and how the family copes. I also just began Her Last Death which is our next book club selection. I'm hoping to make it to the meeting the first week of April before the baby arrives. So far that book is different. I haven't formed an opinion because I'm only about 50 pages into the memoir.

Until later..............

A Hectic Week!!!!!!!

It is 9:55 on Sunday night and I'm finally getting on the computer. It has been a hectic few days. This next week promises to be a little less crazy. I have tons of pictures to post, but I need at least an hour to upload and share. Hopefully I'll get to it this week.

In the meantime we have been busy with: girl scouts (learning about various countries)- the kids have been up past their bedtime for the last 2 nights- I've made Amanda another birthday cake and lots of goody bags- I've started sorting through baby clothes and Amanda's closet- I bought material to make curtains for Amanda's new room- I've visited with the family and learned a lot more about Canada- I've hosted a 7-year old birthday party for girly girls- We've played outside and Tug has had 3 walks in the last 2 days- We have had cereal for dinner the past 2 nights- I'm not sleeping at all so therefor I finished another book- and Oh yeah... did I mention Steve has been in Kalamazoo during all this chaos.

I can hardly wait to see what this week has in store.........................

Sunday Evening Ramblings...........

So it's Sunday evening about 8:05 and I just got the opportunity to blog. Once again there are no pictures, but I promise they are coming. I'll work on them this week. I have lots to share.... from our trip to Chicago, to Mom's birthday, to projects, and the family.....

It has been a busy weekend like usual. Friday the kids and I played Bingo in a PTA sponsored event for Twin Beach Elementary. We had a good time, but things really became exciting when Amanda got a BINGO! She was a little disappointed after 3 games and no luck. I even bought extra cards in the hope we could change our luck. Well... the 4th game was a charm. It was a game called Backwards Bingo. The object of the game was to not fill your card with any ink blots. We were having such stinky cards all night this was a perfect game for us. Amanda had the 5th worst card of the night earning her a top Bingo prize! She was grinning ear to ear.

Sat. revolved around work, laundry, chores, and birthday cake. With the help of Brad and Justin we celebrated Mom's birthday. We missed Mo Mo who was busy unloading boxes at the new house. Sunday was busy shopping for birthday presents, driving Amanda to a birthday party, working on our crazy girl scout project (I'll explain later), working on Amanda's goody bags for her party next weekend, etc. I feel pretty good about Amanda's upcoming party. The only wrench in the plan is that Amanda actually wants me to make another CAKE. I was hoping to make cute and easy cupcakes. Instead I think I'm constructing a cake in the shape of a PURSE. I hope it goes well and that it is easy. I always seem to get in a little over my head with these projects.

Now......A couple random things........

1. I just started watching Celebrity Apprentice. There are some unusual characters on the show and it was interesting last week. So far I like it and I'm excited to see what happens tonight.

2. I just started reading the book Loving Frank. It is a book of fiction about Frank Lloyd Wright and it had been on the best seller list for awhile. So far it's pretty good, but I'm waiting to see what the main plot is about.

3. Are you smarter than a first grader? I can't believe I'm admitting this.......... but I might not be. Amanda is studying solids, liquids, and gases in school. This week she had to cut out pictures of solids and liquids and describe them based upon the terminology they had learned. This should be right up my alley. I love science and this did not involve numbers, or fractions, or integers, or estimation. One of our liquids was water. It is colorless, and not foamy, or viscous. But, this is what I got stuck on. Is water considered transparent or translucent? I didn't know there was a difference. I thought the two were pretty much one and the same. I can see through the water bottle so I assume it is ____________. I had to Google it. Even after reading the definitions I'm still a little confused. I need to write the teacher a note to clarify it for me. I think the gist of it is that something is transparent or translucent based on the amount of light that gets dispersed when it passes through the liquid. HUH? So now you tell me.... Are you smarter than a first grader?

4. How do a 4 and 7 years old drive better than a 34 and 39 year old while playing Mario Kart (a video game that involves driving a car/motorcycle)? I think Steve and I have collectively been driving for 41 years. Amanda and Nicholas are collectively at 0. There must be something wrong with my reasoning.......

5. How can you be physically exhausted during the day and unable to sleep at night? It makes no sense to me. C'est la vie!

Anyway...... hope everyone has a good week. I hope to post pictures soon. Until later.......

In a FUNK..............

So... I have been in a funk the last week or so. I don't feel like my normal self. I've been really tired lately. I don't remember this from the previous pregnancies, but I guess it is to be expected. I have less than 6 weeks before baby girl Herdoiza arrives.

My mind seems to race at night. Silly thoughts..... what kind of cake to make for Amanda's birthday, phone calls to return, should I redo Amanda's room? where is the baby going? where am I going to put the crib or her clothes etc., I need to buy a new stroller and car seat..... Then I have scary thoughts.... another stinky c-section, I hope the recovery is easy, I hope the surgery goes well, I hope the scar tissue isn't bad and the pain is ok, how will I manage with 3 kids when 2 sometime drive me nutty, how will I manage mornings that are already crazy and dysfunctional and then throw a baby in the mix..... I'm just feeling OVERWHELMED.

I guess as soon as I make some decisions, check off things from my to-do list, and inevitably time passes things will get better.

As for photo of the day. I've stopped. Maybe I'll start up again. I've done nothing creative or crafty for awhile. Maybe a new project will get those creative juices flowing. Well, Nicholas and I are off to do some errands and perhaps some baking. Hope everyone has a great day and a good weekend. It is suppose to be 64 degrees today. Now that is something to smile about :)
