I loved this story! I don't have a lot of funny anecdotes or witty lines that Gabby tells me. Since it is difficult for her to find the words to express herself, her language is often short. We have been working hard with the speech therapist to draw out the details. This girls does not ask me random stuff like Nicholas used to ask me. Do you remember him questioning me about whether our car could go faster than a dinosaur? And could the police catch the dinosaur? (Never for a minute thinking the dinosaur might step on the police car or eat the officer.) Nicholas was always good for a laugh on our rides home from preschool. Anyway....
Last Friday Gabby celebrated Dr. Seuss's Birthday at school. She read Dr. Seuss books all week, wore pjs to school, watched The Lorax and ate celebratory cupcakes. When she was home with me later that week, I was busy doing dishes and Gabby was playing by herself on the stairs. This girl always needs attention. It is rare that she plays independently. So as I am washing I'm listening to her talk to Minnie Mouse.... who is soooo sick. She needs to take medicine.... so Gabby has a syringe and a cup to measure out the Motrin....she is trying to make Minnie feel better. I told Gabby she was being such a good Mom to take Minnie to the Doctor so she would feel better. However..... Gabby let me know that she wasn't the Mama.... she was the Dr. "I'm Dr. Seuss." The one doctor she know very well! I laughed at that.... it was too cute.... and Gabby never comes up with those lines. I took a photo so I would remember this moment.....
So maybe one of my kids will end up in the medical field.... Here's to my Dr. Seuss....Until later....

Random Photos I Meant to Post
I've been meaning to post these pictures for quite awhile....
I invited Mom and Dad over for dinner one Saturday night and look what Gabriella pulled out.... puzzles... her favorite thing to do. I think she was trying to convince Grampie for some help. She likes for you to sit down with her, but if you start putting too many pieces together she says, "I'll do it myself!" After she just begged you to help her!
Grammie was a pro. Gabby has done lots and lots of puzzles with and without help. It's amazing she never tires of them!
Here's a shot of Gabby with some of her Valentine treats......
Poor Nicholas had been down and out on several occasions during the month of February. He did question me about why I was choosing to take his picture. I guess I really didn't know why.... I was just documenting what was going on. Anyway, I can't wait for summer to come and the germs to go!
Gabby and I have been working hard to identify the letters of the alphabet. It is a work in progress. I think she knows more than half of them.... however there are a few hard ones... like Q and M and N and W and V. We have also tried to write her name. Which is tough... especially because she is so ambidextrous. I thought she was left-handed.... she really has an affinity for the left side, but she writes some letters with her right and some with her left and even switches hands while making the same letter. I'm sure she will figure it out.... or at least choose one hand before she begins cursive!
Here's a photo from our outing to Benihana for Amanda's birthday celebration....
Pretty cute.... and no hair was messed up while posing for this photo.
The kids (especially Gabby) really enjoyed watching the chef prepare our meal with all the theatrics...
Gabby had a great time and we were surprised when she actually ate some of the chicken. Wow! I guess she likes something besides bagels, pasta, and yogurt.
Nicholas had a very unique way of using his chopsticks. He would just spear his food and bring it to his mouth. In fact... he was wondering why you needed 2 sticks because clearly one chopstick worked just fine!
