Yes... That was on my I-phone

So do you want to see what's been on my i-phone lately? Here's a look at the summer through my phone...

I took the kids to a spray park in Farmington.  Nick and Gabby had fun cooling off.... but Amanda was way too "cool" for a spray park.  She hung out on a towel in the grass.
Waiting at the entrance of the Detroit Zoo for Uncle Brad, Aunt Laura, and the cousins.  We sent this photo to Steve who was coaching in the heat at Kalamazoo.
This was part of a hula-hooping contest the kids were having on the driveway with their friends.  I was the official time keeper so I had my phone close by... here was Gabby's initial attempt...
We took the kids to play putt putt.  Since I had a cast on my right hand... and I'm not much of a lefty golfer... I took photos with my phone.  Nick and Gabby making par.....
Amanda showing off her skills on the putt putt course...
Here we are enjoying the Tiger's game.... the kids were disappointed they didn't catch a ball....
There was a huge group of us.... Mom and Dad.... Mo and Cam... and the Herdoizas
Good thing my i-phone flips.....  this way I made it into a photo... the 2nd picture was made with instagram... It's a fun app every now and then....
We have been taking lots of long walks this summer to get some exercise... we often end up at the park and I always have my phone handy in case of an emergency.... Like if someone falls off the monkey bars and gets hurt... or someone rides their scooter over another person's foot because they are wearing flip flops which is against the rules, but doesn't seem to matter until crushed toes are invovled!!!
And look who we took on a walk this day..... It's Bella.  We were happy to dog sit for Bob and Kaye and Bella came with us to the park...

More instagram photos.... This is the day I got my neon pink cast.... I'm so happy it is off as I type this now.... it was stinky and a pain and I only wore it for a little over 3 weeks.  Look how good I was becoming using my left hand....
We took everyone to see Ice Age 3 in 3-D.... even Miss Gabriella... This was her first time at the movies... and I think she enjoyed the popcorn and M & M's the best.... She found the glasses were pretty cool too... for the first 5 minutes..... then off they came and she watched in blurry bliss until the last 10 minutes when she fell asleep....  I had to capture this photo on the car ride home... You gotta love Gabby's glasses!
And... a final random shot off my phone.... not sure when this was taken... or why... but they look pretty silly in their Dad's hats.....

I just love that you can take pictures anytime because you always have your phone ready.  My SLR is great... but its also fun to capture all these everyday little moments.  I'll be back soon with more photos from the end of July..... Until later.....

The First Half of the Summer

It is already July 24th???   It seems as if the summer is flying by!!!  I can't believe there is only a month and a half left before its back to school.  There are so many things we still want to do this summer....  Here is what has been happening recently.....

Steve was out of town at the end of June with a tennis tournament in Kalamazoo.... so in order to keep the kids occupied it was off to the zoo.....

We wanted to check out the new lion exhibit and Nicholas was interested in reading about all the animals... especially their prey and predators which he had studied in school....and Amanda couldn't wait to see the food court...and the ice cream.....
And look who else joined us.... Mr. Tyler.  I made a spur of the moment phone call to Brad and Laura on our way out the door to see if they might want to join us.  Being spur-of-the-moment people... they were excited to meet us for a zoo adventure!
Gabby was totally enthralled that her cousin could join us and was letting her feelings be known by smothering him with a few smooches... Amanda was trying to look incognito/famous... in her rock star sunglasses.... and Nicholas was just being Nick.
Attempting to find their way out of the food court..... Tyler wanted to head towards the giraffes

This was Melea's first trip to the zoo... she didn't care about anything but the bottle.... Brad and Laura rounded out the rest of the family....
The end of June also brought about the end of art camp.  Amanda was chosen by her art teacher to attend a 2 week camp for students that showed promising artistic talent.  Here are a few of her projects from her very first exhibition.
She worked with all different kinds of mediums: paint, clay, pencils, plaster, glitter.  She made projects that moved, that were 3-D, or were made from recycled socks, etc.  All together... she made about 10 projects.  Here she is explaining her art pieces to her captive audience.
Grammie and Grampie Gerwatowski stopped by to check out the art gallery.
The rest of the Herdoizas...
Amanda showing off her socks that were made with a plaster like tape... just like my cast she informed me.....  Hmmm... I see the resemblance....
These next few pictures were from the 4th of July... See... I'm slowly making my way through the summer.  We are already into the beginning of July.  Steve and I wanted a relaxing holiday and so we had planned to veg out and do nothing.  Until Brad called.... he was up for something.... and when he said he would grill if he could do it at our house.... we couldn't refuse.  We had a fun barbecue with Brad, Laura, and the kids.  Amanda had a chance to hold her newest cousin.
Steve finally met Melea for the very first time.  He had the touch... he was able to soothe her with all of his previous Daddy experience...... except I don't think he wants to revisit those days in the future.
Aunt Laura brought over some fun sparklers to play with...
Tyler was having a great time with some help from his dad... Just don't get that sparkler too close to his head.... (I'm just saying from experience... when I might have toasted my brothers scalp as a kid!)
Gabby enjoying the sparklers too!
Am I really having that much fun?  Look at the smile on my face... I could be loving the little glow sticks more than Gabriella....
Amanda was in on the action making figure 8's.......
Nick was having fun with his sparklers in his pajamas....

And that is it for the beginning of July.  I bet you can't wait to see what has happened since July 4th.  Stay tuned.... Until later....
