More of the Same.....

Once again it has been awhile...... and it has pretty much been more of the same. Sickness... UGH... Last Sunday, we celebrated my nephew Josh's birthday. The kids had a big sleepover the night before, and Steve and I met everyone for lunch. Wouldn't you know, Amanda started feeling queasy after the cake. We had to make a run for it home. She stayed in bed for the remainder of the day. By Monday I had caught a head cold and cough. Gabby continued to be up at night with her cold too. By Wednesday, Steve came home from work and got right into bed. He was achy and nauseous. Do you see what I mean.... we can't seem to get away from it! Anyway.... I think we are all FINALLY better.

Gabby went to bed early so I thought I would blog tonight. I haven't taken many pictures under the circumstances; however, I have been reading alot at night as I rest in bed. I got suckered into reading the Twilight Series. It is a very popular group of books for the teen scene and they have made 2 of the 4 books into movies. I never understood the hype..... even adults were reading them. Sooooo.... one Saturday a client brought me the first book in the series Twilight. I had been making fun of her. She liked them and the movies. I was ready to make fun of the book and tell her how terrible it was... you know it follows a girl and a vampire and a werewolf. Come on people! I don't like vampires and werewolves don't exist either... how ridiculous. Well, I read the first 500 pages and I was hooked. It is a good story. I read it in 3 days and rented the movie from the library. The second book New Moon was not so great (another 500 pages). I heard the movie is better than the book. The third book Eclipse I liked and I'm currently finishing the last book of the series. Crazy Right! Anyway here are a few pictures, before I'm off to finish reading the last 500 pages....

So ridiculously cute.... Need I say more.... I love the tutu!

Here's the tutu in color. This was an adorable baby gift Gabby got when she was born. The front says Miss April. I was going to take pictures of her in it around her birthday, which is April. Unfortunately I thought it was a 12 month outfit. It is 6-9 months. I could hardly stretch her arms through the onesie. I doubt I'll get to take more pictures in it..... such a bummer.... plus she was not in a cooperating mood on this day.

The story of my life right now.... Gabby on the move.... I'm always chasing her....

I can't keep up.... she is gone in a flash.....

Absolutely perfect.....

I'm sure she will use this look again when she is a teenager.... Mom.... enough already!

The best shot of the day...

Nick may be an award winning actor one day.... he can cry about anything at anytime... he is way too sensitive... just like his mom... UGH

Gabby thought it was hilarious.... all the histrionics... Nick started a new batch of tears when he thought Gabby was laughing at him

When I say she is into everything, I mean everything! When I try to type on the computer.....

Playing in the kitchen...

Forever crawling around....

Finally, the rest of the crew being goofy!

Hopefully, I'll take more pictures and feel like writing more next week.
Until later.............

The past month.....

Soooo.... I think the last time I was on the blog it was Amanda's 8th birthday party.... let's back track a little. (Oh yeah... once again.... I am done with picture of the day. I made it to March this year. Life has been too busy.) So here was the first day back to school after winter break. Amanda got a birthday crown at school, and all the kids in her class wrote a birthday message to her in a cute little book.

I sent in birthday treats.... cupcake cones as requested by Amanda. They came out cute, but they were a little bit of a pain to make and the cone turned soft by the next day. Oh well... the kids still loved them according to Amanda. Nick and Amanda are enjoying the extras.

Lately I've been a little concerned that Gabby has been my slowest mover. Nicholas was walking at 9-10 months and Amanda was taking her first steps at 10 months. Gabby is 11 months and shows no interest in walking. However.......... she did pull this out of the library bag and into the kitchen. She may not walk... but boy is she going to be smart. She's already trying to get ahead of the preschool competition.

I was cleaning up dishes one night and I heard zooming and giggling from the other room. When I turned the corner Nick was flying down the hall with Gabby. He was spinning her faster and faster in circles. I cried for Nick to stop. I could just see her crashing into a wall or capsizing. "But she loves it mom.... watch." I couldn't resist snapping a photo. Gabby truly loved it and was giggling non-stop. So much for adult supervision.......

In happier times... my handsome guy. Monday morning was the usual rush off to school and work. The sitter came over, I went to work, Steve took his car in, and I had just begun my errands at Target when I got a call from Nicholas' school. (It is never a good thing to see the school pop up on your phone i.d.) Guess who was throwing up? Poor guy! I left my filled basket and began sprinting through Target and the parking lot. My heart was pounding and I felt so bad for Nick. Anyway, I picked him up with no incidents in the car and he spent the next 2 days home with me. Today he is back to school.

Here are the p.j.s I ordered for Amanda's birthday. Now she matches her American Girl doll. Don't they look pretty in pink?

I snapped this photo a while ago. Look at poor Gabby.... she spends a lot of time in this car seat. She gets shuffled to school, tennis, catechism, grocery shopping, the library, etc. This is like a second home for her. Maybe this is why she hasn't learned to walk yet... she is too busy being carted everywhere.

Do you see any resemblance?

Gabby's hair is getting so long... she now wears the Pebble's ponytail on the top of her head. It is the only way I can keep her hair out of her face. She pulls out barrettes and bows... so I have to put the ponytail in real tight and up high.

I went for a scrapbooking weekend 2 weeks ago with Kaye. When I uploaded the photos from my camera, I came across this. I guess someone got a hold of my camera while I was away. The kids haven't dressed up in awhile. I wonder what a witch and construction worker were doing together...

I found this the other day on the dining room table... take a look. It cracked me up. If only it were that easy to earn accolades in real life!

Nicholas entertaining Gabby with the ever present Pebble's ponytail.

March has been reading month at school. There have been fun activities scheduled and school spirit days. This was crazy hair day last Friday. This is about as CRAZY as we get at the Herdoiza house. When Amanda came downstairs, Steve told her she looked cute! I wonder if he realized her hair wasn't actually suppose to look like that. Normally she wouldn't leave the house with 2 bird's nests on top..... But she does look cute with her crazy hair.

2 days ago, she finally put it all together.... Gabby has learned how to crawl....

Now she can get to whatever she wants.... which has been a little bit of a nightmare.... I can't turn my back for a second.... this is what keeps me fit and trim.... keeping up with this little monkey...

Her favorite new activity is emptying this drawer. Maybe there will be another baker in the family?

The kids were excited to see if the leprechaun will come to school today. It is St. Patrick's Day after all. He plays tricks in their classrooms. At least this is what has happened in past years. Look what the leprechaun is leaving in their lunches today....

Well, I hear Gabby on the monitor. It sounds like she is up from her nap. She has been sick the last week with a terrible cold and she has a new tooth coming in on the bottom. Needless to say, she has not been sleeping and neither have Steve and I. It has been terrible. I'm hoping to go for a short walk and get her in the sunshine. Maybe the nice weather will kill off all these germs.
Until later........

Taking it day by day.....

We are alive.... we are a little overwhelmed.... there has been sickness..... and very little sleep.... cranky kids..... calls from school.... we are taking it day by day....

Just when I think I can update the blog.... something happens.... I'm hoping to have some new posts this week. I'm off to bed.

Until later......
